Prayer topicsAbout

Please fervently pray for our nation. Would you include these prayer topics not only during your personal prayer time, but also during times of corporate prayer?

  • On July 15, BP workers were able to temporarily cap the leak in the Gulf and the company hopes to finish a permanent relief well by mid-August. According to government scientists, the leak has poured approximately 94 million gallons of oil. Please pray that Robert Dudley, BP's new CEO, and other leaders of BP would make wise decisions while dealing with this crisis. Also pray for the people who have been affected by this massive oil spill. May this be an opportunity for them to depend on God.

  • Please pray that President Obama would be wise in picking a new Supreme Justice to replace Justice John Paul Stevens. (4/13/10)

  • Eighteen states have filed a joint lawsuit against the health care reform act, saying that it violates the Constitution’s commerce clause by requiring nearly all Americans to buy health insurance. Please pray for our leaders as they work hard to provide health care but also allow people the freedom to choose. (4/13/10)

  • Pray for our leaders. (1/18/10)
    1. Pray that God would personally meet President Obama. Pray that the President would govern this country in fear of God. May he surround himself with a good spiritual mentor and others who can give him godly counsel. Also pray that intercessory prayer would take place in the White House.

    2. May there be spiritual revival in the lives of the Supreme Court judges as well as in the courthouses. May their decisions be based on biblical principles. May they allow prayer meetings and Bible studies to take place in the public arena.

    3. Pray that spiritual revival would take place in the Congress. Please pray that the Chaplain for the Senate and the House of Representatives would be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    4. Pray for the protection of our military and its leaders as they work hard to protect our country. May they humble themselves before God, acknowledging that God is the one who ultimately keeps our country safe.

    5. Pray that our Cabinet Members would seek God first when making decisions in their personal lives and when making decisions for this country.

    6. Pray that God would raise up governors and state legislatures who fear Him and desire to do what is right in His eyes.

    7. Continue to pray for teachers as they educate the next generation. May they exemplify godly characteristics in the classroom and teach students how to become leaders.
  • Pray for those who serve in our local, state, and federal government. (11/12/09)

  • Pray for the wisdom and discernment of our President and his administration. (11/12/09)

  • Pray for the Justices of the Supreme Court, those in Congress, governors, mayors, and other government leaders. Pray that these men and women will come to fear the Lord and seek to do His will.

    (11/12/09)

  • Please continue to lift up the family and friends of those who have been affected by the Fort Hood shootings. In such a tragic and hard time, pray that God's peace and comfort would surround those who are in mourning. Please also pray for the military, government officials, lawyers, investigators and all others who are trying to piece this situation together. Please pray for justice but also wisdom and discernment.

  • Prayer topics for Education/School (9/17/09)
    1. Pray for teachers to have the wisdom, knowledge, and skills to teach students.
    2. Pray that schools would be a place where students learn not only knowledge, but also morality and integrity.
    3. Pray for educators and school administrative leaders to be God’s shining light in schools by being role models and mentors for the younger generations.
    4. Pray that teachers would fear God and understand that they have great responsibility as they train our nation’s future leaders.
    5. Pray for the institutions to be a place of freedom, where students can gather together to pray without being persecuted.
    6. Pray for students to be receptive to learning. May they see God moving in their lives, among their friends, and in their schools.
  • Please pray for the families who have had to evacuate their homes due to the California wildfires. Pray that they may find places to stay and that they will be able to have peace in the midst of the chaos. Remember to also lift up the firefighters as they continue to work around the clock to contain the fires and keep people safe. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-fires1-2009sep01,0,4163152.story (9/1/09)

  • The California legislature has passed a bill (AB2567) that seeks to designate May 22 as Harvey Milk Day. Harvey Milk was a gay rights activist and member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. If this bill is signed into law by the governor, public schools and educational institutions will be encouraged to observe this day and carry out ‘commemorative exercises’ on this date so that students will learn about the life of Harvey Milk and his beliefs. Please pray that the people in California would take action and call the governor to encourage him to veto this bill. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2008/08/state-leg-says.html (8/13/09)

  • As summer is now nearing to an end, let’s pray for our students as they go back to their schools this fall. Many have returned from missions trips, retreats, and other conferences. Pray that the students would not forget what they’ve learned and experienced. Pray that even at a young age, they would be role models and God’s light to all they encounter. (8/13/09)

  • Please pray for college students as they return to their campuses. Ask God to encourage and strengthen these believers that they may be bold and passionate about seeing revivals on their campuses. In the past, young people started many prayer movements and revivals. We believe that God wants to see this again. Many students are attending public universities, where relativism and pluralism run rampant and no absolute truth is found. Pray that God would use Christian college students as servants to help others seek truth and find God. (8/13/09)

  • The unemployment rate is now 9.5% in the U.S. Please continue to pray for those who are suffering from this economic recession. May God’s hope and peace fill each individual and family across this country. Let us pray that people would turn to God as their source for life instead of other things. (7/10/09)

  • Pray for President Obama as he travels to different countries. Please pray for his health and that he would be safe while traveling. Continue to pray for wisdom on his behalf as he continues to build relationships with different nations. (7/10/09)

  • Now that summer is here, there are many individuals and churches traveling overseas for missions trips. Let’s keep our brothers and sisters in prayer as they serve others. (7/10/09)
